In a bid to enhance the digital learning experience for its students, ICT University has acquired brand-new equipment, including computers, smart boards, adapters, and video projectors.
The university received the first batch of 25 computers, with another 25 expected to arrive soon, bringing the total to 50 computers. This new equipment will enable students to access information easily, facilitating a better learning experience. Additionally, the smart boards will allow for online teaching, while students without personal computers can utilize the university’s equipment for research and academic work.
Professor Jean Emmanuel Pondi emphasised that ICT University renovates its computer equipment every three years. The old equipment will be donated to secondary schools across the country, promoting digital learning and bridging the technology gap.
The university has also received adapters and video projectors, which arrived in December 2024. The equipment renewal is done progressively, with orders coming mainly from China and the United States. Notably, the video projectors were purchased from the United States to ensure optimal quality and ease of return in case of problems.
This significant investment in modern equipment underscores ICT University’s commitment to providing a quality learning experience for its students. The new equipment will also enhance distance learning, offering students an immersive and engaging learning experience.
In a related development, ICT University received a visit from two officials from the University of Buea on January 28, 2025, as part of a routine inspection. This visit aimed to verify that everything is in order with the files of students enrolled at ICT University. This academic oversight, in place since March 13, 2023, ensures that degrees jointly issued by both institutions meet academic standards.
