The President and Founder of ICT University, Professor Victor Mbarika, announced a 5 billion FCFA investment in Cameroon’s economy over the next 10 years during the 14th matriculation ceremony of freshmen on October 21st, 2024.
Professor Mbarika outlined the sectors to benefit: agriculture, real estate, and ICT. “We’re training job creators, not seekers,” he said. “We support students’ innovations and projects.” The investment will focus on agricultural robotics, creating over 2,000 jobs, with 500 reserved for youths in the Northwest and Southwest regions.
Rector Professor Emmanuel Pondi emphasised discipline and respect as key to academic excellence. “We train students to be disciplined and respectful,” he said.
This batch is uniquely named after the late Professor George Mbarika. Professor Pondi encouraged students to follow his example.

The ceremony, themed “Quality Education: Creating Solutions and Shaping the Future,” commissioned over 500 students to drive change. Top traditional and academic dignitaries attended, pledging support to the matriculating students.
