Professor Philemon Zoo Zame, ART Director General, led a delegation to MTN Cameroon’s Douala headquarters on April 13, 2026, for ART’s annual review of operator investments and 2026 plans.
MTN showcased 2025 gains in network coverage and infrastructure upgrades. The 2026 roadmap focuses on expanding connectivity, modernising infrastructure, improving service quality, and rolling out inclusive digital solutions.
While ART verified MTN’s 2025 investments were delivered, Zoo Zame said satisfaction depends on consumer experience. “As long as the consumer in Cameroon is not happy, ART will not be satisfied,” he noted, pointing to energy cuts and interconnection as persistent challenges.
ART recommended more collaboration on fibre-optic transport, energy management, and special coverage measures for the Pope’s visit to Bamenda, Douala, and Yaoundé.
