In Dschang, the MTN Skills Academy became a launchpad for youth empowerment, welcoming 1,792 young participants and awarding 1,430 certifications. The program’s inclusive design ensures that even those with limited prior exposure to professional digital tools can rapidly develop core competencies relevant to education, job search, and small business creation.

Participants learned to navigate the digital world safely and productively – adopting secure practices, communicating professionally online, and experimenting with early-stage entrepreneurial ideas. For many, this was a turning point.

Oscar, a student, shared: “Before this training, I mainly used digital tools for communication and entertainment. I discovered how these tools can also be used for learning, entrepreneurship, and innovation.”

Judith added: “This program gave me confidence in my ability to succeed in the digital world and seize the opportunities it offers.”

By investing in youth capabilities, MTN Cameroon is reducing barriers to opportunity and strengthening community resilience. The Academy’s outcomes demonstrate how targeted training can catalyze self-belief, career readiness, and local innovation, especially in regions where access to quality digital education has been uneven. Through this initiative, MTN reinforces its intention to actively support the country’s progress by building a digitally skilled generation capable of driving national transformation.
