CAMTEL is using PROMOTE 2026 to champion Cameroon’s digital sovereignty ambitions, showcasing investments in local data hosting, expanded connectivity and cloud infrastructure that it says are critical to the country’s digital future.
At the 10th edition of the International Exhibition for Enterprise, Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises and Partnership, the state-owned telecommunications operator has drawn significant attention with presentations centred on its Blue mobile network and the Zamengoe Data Centre, two flagship projects it believes can reduce Cameroon’s dependence on foreign digital infrastructure.
Speaking from the company’s pavilion at the Yaoundé Conference Centre, CAMTEL’s Head of Institutional Communication, Benedict Ndinwa, said the company’s Blue network has surpassed two million active subscribers within three years of its launch, reflecting growing confidence in locally managed telecommunications services.
To mark the exhibition, CAMTEL is offering promotional Blue SIM cards at FCFA 500, bundled with 2GB of data, 2,000 call units and a 48-hour validity period.

Beyond mobile services, the company is placing particular emphasis on the Zamengoe Data Centre, which it describes as a strategic asset for safeguarding national data and supporting the country’s digital transformation agenda.
Located approximately 30 kilometres from Yaoundé, the facility holds Tier III certification, an internationally recognised standard for reliability and operational continuity. According to Ndinwa, the centre is equipped with advanced backup systems capable of ensuring extended energy autonomy and minimising service disruptions.
CAMTEL is encouraging businesses, government institutions and private organisations to host their data locally rather than abroad, arguing that domestic hosting offers greater control over sensitive information, enhanced security and faster access speeds.
“Keeping data within national borders enables organisations to maintain control over their information while benefiting from competitive costs and improved performance,” Ndinwa explained.

The company’s participation in PROMOTE extends beyond its main exhibition stand. More than 500 brand ambassadors have been deployed across a dedicated digital pavilion to demonstrate CAMTEL’s range of telecommunications and enterprise solutions while engaging directly with customers and potential business partners.
The showcase comes as Cameroon intensifies efforts to modernise public services and expand digital access nationwide. CAMTEL says it is continuing to invest in network expansion, particularly in underserved communities, as part of broader efforts to bridge the digital divide and promote inclusive connectivity.
The company is positioning itself not merely as a telecommunications provider but as a key architect of Cameroon’s digital future, anchored on local infrastructure, secure data management and stronger technological independence.
